How can I explain what it is like to actually live in the grip of this horrible condition? I had the worst rage of my condition a couple of weeks ago and it was suffered by my poor loving, patient husband.
“Intense, inappropriate anger is one of the most troubling symptoms of borderline personality disorder
(BPD). It is so intense that it is often referred to as “borderline rage.” While anger is a key feature of BPD, very little is known about why people with BPD experience anger differently than other people or even how this experience is different. New research, however, is shedding light on the nature of borderline rage.”
It has taken my husband a while to get back on track after my intense outburst. He was shocked and I was wracked with guilt and self-loathing.
I have persuaded him to seek support from our local carers organisation and we had a weekend independently away from each other just for a cooling down period. It seemed to have helped us both!
